Taken from the Dalcroze Eurhythmics website, Eurhythmics is “a process for awakening, developing, and refining innate musicality through rhythmic movement (often called eurhythmics), ear-training, and improvisation.” In this workshop, students will get an introduction to Eurythmics in an engaging, experiential way.

Our presenter, Mary Dobrea Grindahl is Professor of Piano at Baldwin Wallace Conservatory in Ohio. She is one of only ten people in the US who hold Diplôme Supérieur from the Institut Jaques-Dalcroze in Geneva, Switzerland.

Feldenkrais Workshop & Masterclass

Feldenkrais Workshop & Masterclass

The Feldenkrais Method is a very popular body awareness modality among musicians. This workshop will give students an introduction to Feldenkrais with an opportunity to perform in a masterclass focused on concepts from the method with renowned cello professor Uri Vardi. Taken from the Feldenkrais website, “The Feldenkrais Method is based on principles of physics, biomechanics, and an empirical understanding of learning and human development. By expanding your perception and increasing awareness, you will become more aware of your habits and tensions and develop new ways of moving.”

Uri Vardi is Professor of Cello at University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is also an internationally sought out cello pedagogue and infuses Feldenkrais into his teaching.

Hagit Vardi is a Feldenkrais Practitioner at University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics. She has vast experience working with musicians.
