The Feldenkrais Method is a very popular body awareness modality among musicians. This workshop will give students an introduction to Feldenkrais with an opportunity to perform in a masterclass focused on concepts from the method with renowned cello professor Uri Vardi. Taken from the Feldenkrais website, “The Feldenkrais Method is based on principles of physics, biomechanics, and an empirical understanding of learning and human development. By expanding your perception and increasing awareness, you will become more aware of your habits and tensions and develop new ways of moving.”
Uri Vardi is Professor of Cello at University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is also an internationally sought out cello pedagogue and infuses Feldenkrais into his teaching.
Hagit Vardi is a Feldenkrais Practitioner at University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics. She has vast experience working with musicians.
