BYCP Assistant

Description of Organization

The Bellingham Symphony Orchestra is in its 47th season. The organization is comprised of over 80 musicians, a board of directors, and a small office staff. As part of our concert series, the BSO presents six to seven classical concerts each season. Each of these concerts features world renowned soloists. In addition, the organization does over 90 in-school concerts each season and collaborates with Mount Baker Theatre for an Educational Concert as part of their Educational Series. The BSO receives great support from the community with some seasons having multiple sold out concerts.

An important part of the BSO is our Bellingham Youth Chamber Players (BYCP). The Bellingham Youth Chamber Players program provides chamber music opportunities to elementary through high school string, woodwind, and piano players.  In addition to receiving coaching by professional musicians, students will take part in occasional workshops and masterclasses from pedagogues locally and nationally to enrich their music education.

We have a great team that is enthusiastic about sharing fine orchestral music with our community. We strive to put forth high quality work with innovative strategies. The mission of the Symphony is, “The BSO engages, connects, and uplifts our community by performing powerful, beautiful, and inspiring music.”  For more information on the orchestra's Mission, Vision, DEI statement, and history, please visit our www.bellinghamsymphony.org/about-us-home.
