BSO Announces New Symphony Players

The Bellingham Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce the results of their latest round of auditions. "After hearing a number of very talented players, we have selected the following musicians to join the BSO," says Music Director Yaniv Attar. "We welcome them, and look forward to making beautiful music together."

New orchestra members are:
Violin 1: Madeline Massey, Violin 2: Lenelle Morse, Cello: Brian Coyne, Omar Firestone, Rebekah Hood-Sava and 2nd Clarinet Emily Prestbo.

"We are very fortunate to have so many excellent musicians in our area," says Executive Director Gail Ridenour. "Each year our audition process reminds us of that, and how lucky we are to live in an area rich with talent."

New players will join the orchestra immediately, and be heard throughout this season, with the new string principals Dawn Posey, Shu-Hsin Ko, Yuko Watanabe, and Heather Ray on Vivaldi’s Concerto for Four Strings.

November's concert also features oboe legend Alex Klein, and Music Director Yaniv Attar, performing a guitar duet with Michael Partington, while conducting from the guitar. Tickets for the second half of the season will go on sale November 29; for more details, visit the BSO website.

The BSO's next auditions will be in June of 2022.
