“Itamar Zorman...whose splendid playing conveyed precisely the right mix of tenderness, agitation and spiritual succor.” – The New York Times

Of Note

Kenji Bunch’s Supermaximum — referring to U.S. high-security incarceration — was inspired by the tradition of “chain gang” songs from prison camps of the Depression-era South.

Henriëtte Bosmans' piece, written in 1934, is heavy on Eastern modes — improvisatory and at the same time dramatic.

Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem is a powerful piece in seven movements, scored for soprano and baritone soloists, mixed choir, orchestra, and organ.

Bunch’s piece integrates bluegrass, hip-hop, jazz, and funk idioms into more traditional structures.
