The Moldeau, was written by the Czech composer Bedřich Smetana in 1874 and tells the story of a famous river. It is from a piece about his home country, Má Vlast or My Country. Smetana takes us on a journey from the small beginning of the river to the great city of Prague.

The BSO is a proud participant and a founding member of the new Whatcom Arts Project, a group of over 30 community arts nonprofits.
