Of Note

Did you know that our Concertmaster Dawn Posey is also a founding member of a groundbreaking women’s quartet called Kassia Ensemble in Pittsburgh, PA?

Luigi Boccerini was an Italian composer and cellist who influenced the development of the string quartet as a musical genre and who composed the first music for a quintet for strings.

Music Director Yaniv Attar was the first guitarist to win the Aviv Competition Prize in Israel and the Concerto Competition at the Juilliard School.

Mendelssohn was the grandson of the philosopher Moses Mendelssohn, and was recognized as a musical prodigy at a very young age..

The Boccerini features a percussion part in the last movement, which will be played by our Co-Principal Percussion Kay Reilly.
